Rematch of the 2024 Eastern Conference Final
The New York Rangers are red-hot right now, and they’re set to host the Florida Panthers in what promises to be a thrilling matchup. The Blueshirts' offense has been electric to start the season, leading the league with a jaw-dropping 5.17 goals per game. Artemi Panarin has been nothing short of sensational, racking up 13 points in just six games. Their recent 7-goal explosion against the Montreal Canadiens shows how everyone on the roster is contributing offensively.
But it's not just the offense that's clicking. Defensively, the Rangers are just as solid, ranking fourth in the league, allowing a stingy 2.00 goals against per game. Igor Shesterkin has been a brick wall between the pipes, posting a 4-0-1 record with a 1.98 GAA and a.932 save percentage. Playing at MSG, where they’re always tough to beat, the Rangers have the clear edge.
On the flip side, the Panthers, last year’s Stanley Cup champs, are coming off a humbling 5-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild and are missing their captain, Aleksander Barkov. Without their top shutdown center, the Panthers will have a tough time containing Panarin’s line, which could spell trouble in this potential Eastern Conference Final preview. With Madison Square Garden sure to be rocking, the Rangers look primed to keep their momentum rolling.
